SCHAKO VLV Volumetric Flow Controller

SCHAKO VLV Volumetric Flow Controller is a special system designed for controlling variable and constant volumetric flows in ventilation and air-conditioning installations. Particularly suitable for low air velocities between 0.5 and 8 m/s and low duct pressures. Volumetric flow controller regulates air volume throughput either constantly or variably. VLV55 and VLV65 models are available and both models are optimized for low-speed applications. For measurement of effective pressure, SCHAKO is using its measuring method by means of standardised Venturi nozzle made of aluminium to DIN EN ISO 5167. In front of Venturi nozzle and in nozzle neck, volumetric flow controller is fitted with openings for pressure take-off. Resulting differential pressure (effective pressure) is measured and evaluated by universal or compact controller. This advanced measuring system provides high precision and reliability. VLV measurement principle allows measurement of small volumetric flows. In comparison with measuring rods, measuring crosses or measuring orifices having fewer measuring points, this gives higher accuracy, allowing inflow area required in front of volumetric flow controller to be omitted. Works within 13-2195 m³/h volumetric flow range. This capacity range provides usage opportunity in HVAC applications of different sizes from small office areas to medium-sized industrial facilities. Volumetric flow controllers of VLV type are insensitive to dirt caused by dust and can be installed and used independently of their position. This feature guarantees reliable operation even in harsh environmental conditions. Error of measurement is ±5 to 15% of rated volume. This precision range provides sufficient accuracy for most HVAC applications and also allows smaller measurement tolerances to be achieved. Can be safely used in office buildings, residential projects, small commercial buildings, low-pressure systems and all HVAC applications requiring precise air volume control.
